After several years of carrying out dual NIHC Committee roles, Adrian Wright will be stepping down as Club Secretary from 31st May 2020. He will continue as Club Treasurer, a role which is expected to need substantially more time commitment over the coming seasons.
Speaking ahead of relinquishing the role, Adrian said “There are many things that I’m proud of at the Club, but none more so than the large increases in participation numbers that we have seen over the past few years. We have sections from U9s to U20s, senior men and three all-female teams. It’s incredibly pleasing to see 20% of our membership now comprising female players, when we were struggling to ice just one ladies’ team only three years ago. All our members from junior to senior have so far seen fees stay identical since 2017, with more now included for that same cost. The corona virus pandemic is going to bring fresh challenges to the sport, club and finances. This adjustment will enable me to have much more time to properly support the financial side of the Club.”
As a result of the change, NIHC will be looking to recruit a new Committee member able to assist with the next stages of club strategy, communications and secretarial activities.
Full details of the role and deadline for applications will be posted separately on club social media in the near future.
